Nanyuki, Kenya

Nanyuki is a frontier town in central Kenya, lying west of Mount Kenya. Nanyuki was founded by British settlers in 1907 and still has a British Army camp. Nanyuki is also visited by climbers and backpackers on their way to and from Mount Kenya.

As you can see from this picture, the silt has built up behind the dam and needs to be shoveled over it in order for the water supply inlet to remain functional.
