Nanyuki, Kenya

Nanyuki is a frontier town in central Kenya, lying west of Mount Kenya. Nanyuki was founded by British settlers in 1907 and still has a British Army camp. Nanyuki is also visited by climbers and backpackers on their way to and from Mount Kenya.
 

Life in Nanyuki, Kenya

These photos were taken over the two year period that I lived in Nanyuki as a Peace Corps Volunteer.  Nanyuki is a small 'frontier' town located at the base of Mt. Kenya and at an elevation of about 6,000 feet.
